This article walks you through creating a Lookup in SalesNexus. Lookups allow you to quickly filter and view a specific subset of contacts (for example, contacts with Hotmail email addresses) and reuse that view across the platform.
Step 1: Open the Contacts Module
- Navigate to Contacts from the main SalesNexus navigation.
- Confirm you are viewing the Contacts workspace (contact list on the left, contact details in the center).
Step 2: Open the Lookup Panel
- On the right-hand floating toolbar, click the Lookup (magnifying glass) icon.
- The Lookup panel will slide open, displaying all existing lookups.
Step 3: Create a New Lookup
- In the Lookup panel, click the + (plus) icon.
- The New Lookup configuration window will open.
Step 4: Name Your Lookup
- In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for your lookup.
- Example: Contacts with Hotmail addresses
- Choose a name that clearly explains the filter logic so it’s easy to reuse later.
Step 5: Define the Lookup Conditions
In the Define segment filters section, click and configure the rule(s) for your lookup.
- Entity: Select Contact
- Field: Select Email
- Operator: Choose contains
- Value: Enter
hotmail - Logic: Leave as AND (default)
- Relationship Scope: Leave as (default) unless your lookup requires cross-entity logic
This condition will return all contacts whose email address contains the word “hotmail.”
- Review the Summary section at the bottom of the window.
- Confirm it reads something like:
- Contact: Email contains hotmail
This summary confirms your lookup logic before saving.
Step 6: Customize Visible Columns
You can tailor which fields appear in the contact list when using this lookup.
- Go to Select visible columns.
- Search for a field (for example, Email).
- Click on
and drag the field from Available Fields into Selected Fields.

This ensures the most relevant data is visible when using your lookup.
Step 7: Click
Step 8: Apply the Lookup
From the Lookup panel, click the newly created lookup.
- The Contacts list will refresh automatically.
